About CMJ Creations
A love of color and art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. One of my early childhood memories is of spending a long time organizing my crayon box by hue and shade. How I loved to look at the colors and choose the right one for my drawing. In the past I have dabbled in many crafts and art forms, such as painting, cross stitch, scrapbooking, and of course polymer clay. This is by far my favorite medium to work with due to its incredible versatility. The possibilities are endless and every time I pick up a lump of clay, I am inspired to try something new.
Inspiration for my work comes from several sources. I have been in love with impressionist painters since I was in my early teens, in particular the works of Monet and Renoir. Living in New Hampshire, I also enjoy the outdoors and the changing of the seasons and often inspiration for my next work can be found right outside my own door.
In seeking a career that would let me express myself in creative ways, I obtained a masters degree in education from Lesley University. After several years of teaching I found myself in a position to pursue art as a career. This has been a time of great personal growth for me. I have grown as an artist through the many friends I have made among other polymer clay artisans and my membership in the New Hampshire Polymer Clay Guild. I live in the small town of Danville with my husband Christopher. We have a three year old daughter Abigail, who is my personal critic and assistant. She has already started to make her own creations from polymer clay and I encourage her to express herself artistically as much as she can. Thank you for taking a look at my site, I hope you enjoy looking at my creations as much as I enjoy making them. Please feel free to contact me for information regarding classes, craft fairs, or special orders…or just to tell me what you think!
Special Note
I would like to take a moment to thank several people who have helped me as I explore my vision as an artist. My family and friends, who have been supportive, and some of my best customers, thank you does not begin to cover it! A special thanks to my polymer clay and computer buddy Elaine Robitaille of Aquarius Creative. She has designed this wonderful website and given me numerous lessons on how to get it up and running, as well as been a sounding board for my many explorations in clay. The site *rocks* and it is all her doing. If you ever need assistance in designing a web site, please contact her at Aquarius Creative.
